We didn’t wake up early today, I had enough sleep in the night and had a plate of fried rice and a cup of coffee delivered to our room as I woke up at 6.30 AM. We wanted to take it easy in our last day of trip and we left our Hotel at 9 AM to the train station to buy a train ticket to Surabaya. Malang Express Train will leave at 1.45 PM so we still had time to walk around the city of Malang. We paid Rp. 15.000 / person for business class with fan to Surabaya, the journey will takes 2 hours approximately. We stopped by at Tugu Hotel, my favourite Hotel and Restaurant chain. Tugu Hotel Malang is the first Hotel of Tugu Group that was formally operated and owned by antiques lover, Mr. Anhar. I love every detail in all of Tugu properties! Each room has its own theme and the antique collections were fabulous! We had our morning tea and snack in one of its restaurant named Melati. We made pictures there and assisted by one of friendly Hotel’s staff. It was worth to visit. I promised to myself that I will stay in this fabulous Hotel when I come to Malang in the future.
From Tugu which I supposed to be a central of Malang city, we walked around and found old cathedral. We didn’t spend too much time in this area because we were so hungry and our time was not enough to explore more. So, after lunch we took our backpack in Hotel, checked out and headed directly to train station. The train arrived on time in Surabaya, we were lucky because one of our friends from college live in Surabaya. So, we took a rest and departed to airport from her place. Our flight back to Jakarta was (again) delayed for about an hour from its original schedule at 9.45 PM. This trip was awesome. We saw many new things and we didn’t spend too much money. Just like one of people I met in Jeep in Bromo said, less money to spend and more new places to see. That’s how it should be!
